Pixel Planet Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction

Welcome to Pixel Planet. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our website, online booking platform, and participation in our on-site experiences, including the Pixel Grid and Virtual Reality (VR) Simulators (collectively “Services”).

By booking a session online, purchasing a ticket in store and online, or participating in our experiences, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use our Services.

These Terms are governed by New Zealand law and comply with applicable consumer protections.

2. Our Services

Pixel Planet provides interactive entertainment, including:

  • Pixel Grid: Motion-based, light-up floor experience requiring physical coordination.

  • VR Simulators: Immersive virtual reality experiences using headsets, controllers, and motion feedback equipment.

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue Services at any time without notice.

3. Age & Supervision Requirements

  • Pixel Grid: Suitable for guests aged 4 years and over.

  • VR Simulators: Suitable for guests 5 years and over.

  • Children under 12 must be actively supervised by a responsible adult at all times while on the premises.

  • The supervising adult or guardian must remain inside the venue for the duration of the visit.

  • Drop-offs are strictly prohibited.

  • Pixel Planet is an interactive family entertainment venue and is not a babysitting or childcare service.

  • For safety reasons, unsupervised children will not be permitted to participate.

  • Parents and guardians are responsible for determining whether the activities are suitable for the children in their care.

4. Health & Safety

  • Participation in Pixel Planet activities involves physical movement and virtual reality experiences.

  • By participating, guests acknowledge and accept the inherent risks associated with these activities.

  • Guests must follow all safety instructions provided by Pixel Planet staff at all times.

  • Individuals with medical conditions such as epilepsy, heart conditions, severe motion sickness, recent surgery, or any condition that may be affected by physical or VR activities should seek medical advice before participating.

  • Pixel Planet reserves the right to refuse entry or participation where, in the reasonable opinion of staff, participation may present a safety risk to the participant or others.

  • Children left unattended or without appropriate supervision will not be permitted to participate.

         Footwear Policy

  • For the safest experience and to help protect the interactive floor, we recommend participating barefoot or while wearing grip socks.

  • Grip socks are available for purchase in-store for $4.00 per pair.

  • The Pixel Grid is primarily a barefoot experience. Standard socks may be worn at the participant's own risk, as they may increase the risk of slipping.

  • Clean, closed-toe shoes may be permitted at the discretion of Pixel Planet staff, provided they are clean, dry, and free from dirt, mud, stones, or other debris.

  • All participants must follow staff instructions while using the Pixel Grid. Unsafe behaviour or failure to follow instructions may result in removal from the activity without refund.

  • Pixel Planet is not responsible for injury, loss, or damage arising from failure to follow staff instructions, unsafe behaviour, or the use of unsuitable footwear, to the extent permitted by New Zealand law.

  • Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded under New Zealand law.

5. Booking, Payments, and Cancellations

         

        Booking & Payments

  • Bookings can be made online or in person at our venue.

  • Payment is required at the time of booking to secure your time slot.

  • Walk-ins are welcome, subject to availability.​

         Cancellations

  • Cancellations made more than 24 hours before your booking receive a full refund.

  • Cancellations made less than 24 hours before your booking incur a 50% fee, calculated on the total booking amount.

  • No-shows and late arrivals may result in forfeiture of the booking without refund.

  • Pixel Planet may cancel or reschedule bookings for operational reasons; alternative times or refunds will be offered.​

        Rescheduling

  • If you need to change your booking time, please contact us as soon as possible.

  • Requests made more than 24 hours before the booking will generally be accommodated depending on availability.

  • Requests within 24 hours are at Pixel Planet's discretion.

 

      ​​ Refunds

  • Refunds are issued to the original method of payment, minus any applicable cancellation fees.

  • No refunds are available for no-shows or late arrivals.​

 

       Partial Attendance

  • If a guest arrives late and misses part of their session, no partial refunds will be given, but remaining time may be used if possible and safe.

        Health & Safety Considerations

  • Guests experiencing illness or injury should notify staff immediately.

  • Refunds may be considered on a case-by-case basis for safety reasons.

        Group Bookings & Private Events

  • Different cancellation terms may apply for group bookings or private events.

  • These terms will be communicated at the time of booking.

       Attraction Unavailable

  • If an attraction is unavailable due to equipment failure or operational reasons, Pixel Planet may offer an alternative experience, reschedule the booking, or provide an appropriate refund.

6. Conduct & Behaviour

  • Guests must behave responsibly and treat staff, other guests, and Pixel Planet equipment with respect at all times.

  • Pixel Planet reserves the right to refuse entry or remove any guest from the premises without refund where their behaviour is unsafe, abusive, threatening, disruptive, or where they appear to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs to the extent that, in the reasonable opinion of staff, it may compromise their own safety, the safety of others, or the enjoyment of other guests.

  • Participants are financially responsible for any damage caused through negligence, misuse, or intentional damage to Pixel Planet property or equipment.

  • Staff decisions relating to safety and participation are final.

7. Equipment Use & Liability

  • All equipment remains property of Pixel Planet.

  • Guests must follow staff instructions and use equipment safely.

  • Liability is limited to the extent permitted by NZ law.

  • Pixel Planet does not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

  • Guests assume risk of injury from physical and VR activities, but consumer guarantees under NZ law remain.

  • If an attraction becomes unavailable due to equipment failure or operational reasons, Pixel Planet may offer an alternative experience, reschedule the booking, or provide an appropriate refund.

8. Media & Photography

  • Photos/videos may be taken for promotional purposes.

  • By entering, you consent to use of your image unless you notify staff.

9. Intellectual Property

  • All branding, designs, and content are owned or licensed by Pixel Planet.

  • No reproduction or distribution without written permission.

10. Privacy

Pixel Planet collects, stores, and uses personal information in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. By using our services, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in our Privacy Policy. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for full details regarding the information we collect, how it is used, your rights, and how we protect your personal information.

11. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability​

  • Services are provided “as is” and “as available.”

  • Participation is at your own risk, subject to NZ consumer protections.

  • Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any rights or remedies available under New Zealand law, including the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986, where applicable.

  • Personal injury or property damage resulting from failure to follow safety instructions, unsafe behaviour, or misuse of equipment is the responsibility of the participant, to the extent permitted by New Zealand law.

12. Indemnification

  • Guests agree to indemnify Pixel Planet from claims arising from misuse of Services or violation of Terms.

13. Governing Law

  • Terms are governed by New Zealand law.

  • Disputes are resolved in New Zealand courts.
